Why Fight with a Max Blue?
First of all, you should sword fight with a maxblue because it’s just FUN! Secondly, it’s fantastic training for red sword fighting. The skills learned when using a maxblue or minred transfer up to longer weapons beautifully. Unfortunately, the skills learned with a 6ft great sword or an 8ft polearm do not necessarily transfer down to shorter red weapons. Train right. Learn the skills with a 47-50″ weapon. Yes, you’ll get tired quickly. Yes, you may die more than you want. But you’ll become a great red weapon fighter. Remember, minreds are long enough to break shields and armor with two hard hits. Maxblues cannot break shields or armor. However, maxblues are about half the weight of a minred.
